English Version

The Language Proficiency Department of the International Relations Office (DRI) and the Faculty of Letters (FALE) of the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG) present the distribution of students to the regular courses of Portuguese as an Additional Language (PLA) of the first semester of 2020. This division, based on the results of the placement test, also concerns the students approved in the Certificate of Proficiency in Portuguese Language for Foreigners (Celpe-Bras) or in previous PLA courses offered by FALE/DRI, as well as those who showed interest in taking PLA – Basic course.

Attention:

  • Regular PLA subjects are not open to students who do not have an affiliation with UFMG (as students, professors/researchers or trainees). In this case, we suggest the courses offered by the Faculty of Letters Extension Center (CENEX): http://www.letras.ufmg.br/cenexx/.
  • Students that were not able to take the placement test on the previous date must  inform us about their interest on taking the course, sending an e-mail to: proficienciaportuguesufmg@gmail.com.
  • Students that never had significant contact with Portuguese language before and wish to take part on the “Portuguese as an Additional Language – Basic” class, can also send us an e-mail to the address informed before.

Procedures for registration:

▪ On the first week of his/her Portuguese classes, each undergraduate student will receive an enrollment authorization from their professors. The student has to take this authorization to the Registration Department of their own course until March 23th. It is necessary to have a registration number at this point.

▪ On the first week of their classes, master and PhD students should inform their registration numbers to their Portuguese teachers, who, along with the PLA coordination, will request enrollment to the Department of Enrollment and Academic Control (DRCA).
