
César Guimarães holds a PhD in Literary Studies (Comparative Literature) from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (1995), is a Full Professor at the Faculty of Philosophy and Human Sciences (FAFICH) at UFMG, and a researcher at the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq). A permanent member of the Postgraduate Program in Social Communication, he works primarily in the study of cinema and aesthetic experience. He is the editor of the journal Devires: Cinema e Humanidades. He is a member of the Poetics of Experience Research Group. He was the general coordinator of the UFMG Winter Festival in the 2012, 2013, and 2014 editions (Trilogy of the Common Good). He coordinated the Transversal Training in Traditional Knowledge at UFMG from 2014 to 2024. He coordinated the Management Committee of the Chair of Traditional Knowledge at IEAT (Institute of Advanced Transdisciplinary Studies at UFMG).
