On June 25 and 26, IEAT/UFMG Director Professor Patrícia Kauark and Professor Rita Velloso, from UFMG’s School of Architecture and coordinator of the Cosmópolis research group, paid an academic visit to the Zukunftskolleg at the University of Konstanz, Germany.

The visit was coordinated by Mihaela Mihaylova, who was a visiting resident at IEAT from March to April this year. The program included an institutional presentation of IEAT by Director Patrícia Kauark, as well as meetings and discussions with fellows and researchers at the Zukunftskolleg on interdisciplinary research, internationalization, and new opportunities for cooperation between the two institutions.

The visit marks another milestone in a partnership that has been steadily developed over the past few years. This dialogue began with the visit of IEAT Communications Advisor Fábio Amaral to the Zukunftskolleg in January and February 2025. Subsequently, IEAT welcomed Mihaela Mihaylova to Belo Horizonte, further strengthening the ties between the two teams. Now, the visit by Patrícia Kauark and Rita Velloso consolidates this process of rapprochement and opens new perspectives for the development of joint projects, academic exchanges, and collaborative initiatives.

More than an institutional agenda, the visit reaffirms IEAT’s commitment to UFMG’s internationalization strategy and demonstrates how building networks of trust between individuals and institutions creates lasting opportunities for research and innovation.
