The second edition of the Cycle of Debates of the Network of Studies on Democracy and Disinformation (REDD) has welcomed national and international researchers who are references in studies on disinformation, fake news, post-truth, and other challenges for contemporary democratic regimes.

To address the topic “Engagement, polarization and algorithms: a critical analysis of the role of social networks”, the third meeting of REDD’s II Cycle of Debates will welcome Márcio Moretto, researcher and coordinator (along with fellow researcher Pablo Ortellado) of the Monitor of Political Debate in the Digital Environment.

The activity will take place on Friday, July 5, from 2pm to 4pm, via Zoom Meetings. The meeting is free and online. To receive the link to access the Zoom room, register here.

REDD is a research group at IEAT/UFMG. In May and June, professors Carlos Alberto Ávila Araújo from the Department of Information Science (ECI/UFMG) and Bruno Paes Manso from the School of Communication and Arts (ECA/USP) took part in the cycle. The videos are available on IEAT’s YouTube channel.
