Guldin studied Germanistics and Literature\/English at the University of Zurich and Aston University in Birmingham (United Kingdom), dedicated himself to studies on the American writer H. P. Lovecraft and his doctoral thesis in German Literature was on the writer \u00a0Hubert Fichte. He has taught at the State University of Rio de Janeiro (UERJ), at the Bauhaus Universit\u00e4t in Weimar (Germany), at the Center for Translation and Intercultural Studies at the University of Manchester (England) and at the University of St. Gallen (Switzerland). He is currently professor of philosophy at the Universit\u00e0 della Svizzera Italiana in Lugano, Switzerland, and is co-founder and editor-in-chief of the multilingual electronic journal Flusser Studies (http:\/\/www.flusserstudies.net).<\/p>\n

As a researcher and writer, Guldin produced several essays dedicated to the work of Vil\u00e9m Flusser, in addition to also having publications on translation theories and the history of the human body. His research areas cover landscape theory, the history of translation, the theory of self-translation, plurilingualism in literary texts and the theory of metaphor. He is considered an original philosopher, for dedicating himself not only to studying Flusser’s work, but also for, based on Fluss’s work, assimilating his main lessons to think about culture and contemporary society in its main facets.<\/p>\n
