O NEPSUI - Swine Production
Study Center

NEPSUI, created in 2013, is a group that has as main study topics and interest the different nutritional and environmental technologies and their impacts on the production of lean meat pigs, impacts on productivity and longevity of high producing sows and on the reproductive traits of high genetic value boars. There is also a special interest in studying the adaptation of modern genotypes to tropical climate conditions. These themes are addressed by investigating nutritional and environmental alternatives to mitigate the deleterious effects of high temperatures on pigs and validate new theories and nutritional and/ or environmental strategies to improve intestinal health and productive and reproductive efficiency of these animals.

More activities developed

The group also works in the elaboration and execution of research and extension projects in nutrition, genetics, health and environmental adaptation. Thus, NEPSUI intends to be an instrument to align scientific knowledge with the market, guaranteeing quality and reliability in the information generated that will be used by institutions and companies in promoting technologies.

Our social impact

Associated with research and extension, NEPSUI also has its social role in society and seeks to constantly train future professionals with a high level of qualification, inserted in contemporary aspects of technified pig farming in Brazil and the World, providing technological advances and appropriate solutions to our production conditions.
