At the moment of opening the exhibition O Colecionador
contains over 2500 newspaper cuttings classified in
64 essays ranging from "fragments", "Destroyed
Roofs", "Buildings under construction"
a "yellow flowers"; de "Ruins (abandonment)",
"Archaeology: Excavations", "Temporary
Constructions" a "Violet/ Brown Flowers".
A diagram integrates the work, applied in vinyl on
the wall, illustrating the classification system created
by Mabe Bethônico and the collector.
In this first exhibition of O Colecionador (at least
three more are planned, following this one), a folder
containing an essay is selected from each main theme,
to be exhibited in separate displays:
Construction: Box X: Gestures-Constructions and Others
(48 cuttings )
Destruction: Box II: Buildings under destruction (29
cuttings)
Corrosion: Box VII: Holes on the ground I (35 cuttings)
and
Holes on the ground II (20 cuttings)
Flowers: Box XI: Yellow and Reds (67)
---Tag subliminar---
Note that a subdivision has begun on the third folder,
something that suggests the creation of a new folder.
The other folders not exhibited can be accessed in
the museum's library, from Monday to Friday from 1:00
to 6:00 PM. The open and changeable character of the
work presents a challenge to the museum, which is
extended to the role the spectator may assume in relation
to it: Mabe Bethônico and the collector are
open to receiving newspaper cuttings submitted by
the spectator, related to the classification and themes
of the Collector. Observation: contributions of newspaper
cuttings may be submitted to the museum's library.
