Sua primeira edi\u00e7\u00e3o foi realizada em 1967, na cidade de Ouro Preto.<\/p>\n<p>Ele foi criado por um grupo de professores da Escola de Belas Artes e da Escola de M\u00fasica da UFMG, que buscavam aproximar a arte e os artistas do p\u00fablico.<\/p>\n<p>Sobre a edi\u00e7\u00e3o pioneira, escreve o professor aposentado da Escola de Belas Artes da UFMG, Jos\u00e9 Tavares de Barros, na edi\u00e7\u00e3o 1.239 do Boletim UFMG:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\">\u201cTive a chance de integrar o grupo que planejou o primeiro Festival de Inverno, em 1967. Naquela \u00e9poca de comunica\u00e7\u00f5es prec\u00e1rias, a viagem entre Belo Horizonte e Ouro Preto levava quase duas horas. A cidade hist\u00f3rica vivia ainda mergulhada nas tradi\u00e7\u00f5es e nos r\u00edgidos costumes da antiga capital. Mas seu espa\u00e7o barroco era essencial para a proposta renovadora de oferecer a estudantes do Brasil inteiro cursos livres de artes pl\u00e1sticas e m\u00fasica, do n\u00edvel b\u00e1sico \u00e0s especializa\u00e7\u00f5es mais alentadas\u201d.<\/p>\n<h6><span style=\"color: #00ccff\"><a style=\"color: #00ccff\" href=\"https:\/\/ufmg.br\/comunicacao\/publicacoes\/boletim\/edicao\/1239\/invernos-ouro-preto-festivais-1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">[Leia aqui o depoimento completo]<\/a><\/span><\/h6>\n<p><strong>Locais<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Ouro Preto sediou o Festival de Inverno da UFMG at\u00e9 1979, \u00e9poca em que o evento durava cerca de um m\u00eas. Edi\u00e7\u00f5es do Festival tamb\u00e9m j\u00e1 ocorreram em Diamantina, S\u00e3o Jo\u00e3o Del Rei, Po\u00e7os de Caldas e Belo Horizonte, local de realiza\u00e7\u00e3o do evento desde 2014.<\/p>\n<p>O festival n\u00e3o ocorreu em duas ocasi\u00f5es: em 1980, devido ao cerceamento do governo militar, e em 1984, quando uma greve de servidores e docentes inviabilizou o evento.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Celeiro<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Considerado \u201cceleiro da arte mineira\u201d, o Festival favoreceu o nascimento de grupos art\u00edsticos como o Galp\u00e3o, Corpo, Oficina Multim\u00e9dia, e Uakti.<\/p>\n<p>Sua realiza\u00e7\u00e3o em Belo Horizonte tamb\u00e9m desencadeou a forma\u00e7\u00e3o de outros festivais, como o Internacional de Dan\u00e7a (FID) e o
