COORDINATION OFFICE FOR INFORMATION INCLUSION POLICIES - CPINFO The Coordination Office for information Inclusion Policies (CPINFO) is a support body attached to the Board of Scientific Communication and Extension Program of UFMG and aims to identify, classify, organize, produce and disseminate knowledge and information of public interest in the interaction between the university and society. It is guided by a transdisciplinary perspective in the development of projects and actions and it has a standpoint of access to information for all. It has adopted information technology and communication networks as an important instrumental dimension, but not exclusively, in the conduct of projects, products and services. CPINFO is organized around the following objectives: - Monitor national and international actions relating to good practice in the expansion of information culture within the information society, aiming to assemble a body of knowledge through research, analysis and recommendations; - Provide public education and human resources training, internally and externally, regarding the use of information technology and communication in various spheres of life, aiming to expand the possibilities of citizen participation in the society of information and knowledge; - Promote dialogue, understanding and access to information concerning socio-economic issues, ethical problems and standards, and assessment of special needs and the social implications of widespread integration of technology in society aiming at intensifying efforts nationwide; - Design, organize and disseminate collections and information devices of public interest, produced in the activities of research, teaching and university extension; - Foster the development of community projects and the formation of knowledge networking. Organize and model socio-cultural indicators in the context of the information society that supports UFMG actions; - Analyze and promote explicit and latent social networking in the university-society interface. The Coordination office is organized around the following areas: . Public access to information; . Informational Culture; . Information and digital inclusion; . Culture and expressions of popular knowledge; . Open Archives; . Social research in digital environments; . Social networking; . Social technologies.
