The Brazilian Program for Exchange Students – Undergraduate Level (Programa de Estudantes-Convênio de Graduação - PEC-G), officially established in 1965 and currently governed by Decree 11.923, offers students from countries that have educational, cultural, or scientific-technological agreements with Brazil the opportunity to pursue their undergraduate studies at Brazilian Higher Education Institutions (HEIs).

PEC-G is administered by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MRE), through the Educational Cooperation Division (DCE), and the Ministry of Education (MEC), in partnership with HEIs across the country. The selection process takes place at Brazilian embassies and consulates in the candidates' countries of origin, following the verification of available vacancies at participating Brazilian institutions.

Check out the program's opportunities on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs website.

More information about the academic registration of candidates selected for UFMG's undergraduate program, as well as the transfer process for PEC-G students, can be found on the DRCA website.

In order to participate in the Brazilian Program for Exchange Students – Undergraduate Level (PEC-G), it is necessary to demonstrate proficiency in the Portuguese language. One way to fulfill this requirement is by obtaining the Celpe-Bras certificate, the official Brazilian Portuguese proficiency exam. The exams are held in various countries, including Brazil.

If you need the Celpe-Bras certificate to participate in PEC-G but are unable to take the exam in your home country, you can enroll in the Brazilian Program for Exchange Students -  Portuguese as a Foreign Language (PEC-PLE) in addition to the PEC-G. In the PEC-PLE program, you will spend your first year in Brazil taking a free course in Portuguese language and Brazilian culture. At the end of the year, you will take the Celpe-Bras exam, and after obtaining the certificate, you will be able to start your undergraduate course under the PEC-G program.

Check out the program's opportunities on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs website.

UFMG has a selection process for refugees, political asylum seekers, stateless persons, holders of temporary visas for humanitarian reception and holders of residence permits for humanitarian reception.

The Call and information on the process can be found on the COPEVE website.

In order to become a regularly enrolled student in an undergraduate course at UFMG and complete it entirely in Brazil, foreign students need to take the National High School Exam - ENEM - held annually, and be approved through the Unified Selection System - SISU.
