Full Professor at the Department of Administration at USP and director of the Institute for Advanced Studies at USP (IEA/USP). Coordinated the international network University-Based Institutes for Advanced Study (UBIAS).
He is a Full Professor at the University of São Paulo (USP), where he is affiliated with both the Business School (FEA) and the Engineering School (Escola Politécnica). His main area of interest is Management of Innovation. He was one of the creators of CIETEC, nowadays the largest on campus incubator in Latin America. Prof. Plonski was the CEO of the São Paulo State Institute for Technological Research (IPT). Currently he is the Scientific Coordinator of USP´s Center for Technology Policy and Management (PGT/USP). During 2007-2011 he presided the Brazilian Association of Science Parks and Business Incubators (ANPROTEC). He serves on the board of several institutions in Brazil and abroad. He was given the Knowledge Medal by the Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade (MDIC), the National Confederation of Industry (CNI) and the Small Business Support Organization (SEBRAE).
