Held since 2007, the IEAT Annual Seminar is a traditional meeting of the Institute with the aim of presenting an extract of its activities during the year to the community.
Recent initiatives by the Institute and the directions highlighted at the IEAT Immersion meeting, held in December 2018 in Tiradentes (MG), were presented at the event. Professor Paulo Salvida, director of the Institute of Advanced Studies at USP, gave a lecture on Urban Health. Presentations of projects by resident professors at IEAT were held, with professors from UFMG Andréa Machado de Almeida Mattos, from the Faculty of Arts (Fale), Emílio Peluso Neder Meyer, from the Faculty of Law, Santuza Maria Ribeiro Teixeira, from the Institute of Biological Sciences (ICB), and Cláudia Cardoso Martins, from the Faculty of Philosophy and Human Sciences (FAFICH). To conclude the event, presentations were made by the two research groups active in the last two years at the Institute: “From alternative economies to alternatives to the economy: exploring socio-spatial and cultural concepts and practices beyond economic rationality” and “Life course and delinquent trajectory : an exploratory study of the events and narratives of young people in vulnerable situations”.
