The Institute of Advanced Transdisciplinary Studies aims to promote the generation of an environment conducive to carrying out transdisciplinary studies at UFMG, based on different lines of action, in order to reach the so-called state of the art of knowledge, without which there are no advanced research or excellence groups. To promote transdisciplinarity, the IEAT develops programs that aim to promote the articulation between researchers from different fields of knowledge. The Chairs Program favor the internationalization of transdisciplinary knowledge by allowing renowned researchers on the international scene to develop academic partnerships with UFMG researchers and research groups. The resident professor program allows UFMG professors, in practice, emeritus or retired, who carry out activities as volunteers at the University, to develop advanced research projects, with an outstanding transdisciplinary character. The Research Group program offers support to research groups linked to UFMG that work in at least two different major areas of knowledge, with the possibility of incorporating members from outside UFMG. In addition to the programs, the IEAT is responsible for Revista da UFMG, a biannual publication whose main objective is to address specific themes, from an interdisciplinary perspective, and may also disseminate research results and various theoretical and artistic productions.
