Cristina Parente is an associate professor at the Faculty of Letters of the University of Porto and a researcher at the Institute of Sociology (IS-FLUP). She holds a degree in Sociology from the University of Porto – FLUP, a Master’s degree in Policies and Human Resources Management from the Higher Institute of Labor and Business Sciences of the University Institute of Lisbon and a PhD in Sociology from the University of Porto. In 2012, she held a post-doctorate in Business Administration at the Center for Graduate Studies in Business Research (CEPEAD) at FACE / UFMG. In 2015, he carried out research on the Solidarity Economy Ecosystem in Barcelona, within the scope of the Institute of Government and Public Policy (IGOP) of the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB), integrating the Catalan Solidarity Economy Network (XES – Xarxa d’Economy Solidària) (Spain). She is co-founder of A3S – Association for Social Entrepreneurship and Third Sector Sustainability. She acts in the investigation and supervision of projects on social and solidarity economy, family and organic agriculture, social entrepreneurship, human resources management, adult training, as well as sociology of companies and organizations.
