Professor Yves Schwartz is an alumnus of the Ecole Normale Supérieure (1967). He completed his State Doctorate in 1986, with the thesis Expérience et Connaissance du Travail. He was Professor at the Université de Provence, Professor Emeritus at the Aix-Marseille Université and Full Professor at the University of Porto, Portugal. President of the International Society of Ergology and Founder of the methodological device: Multidisciplinary Analysis of Work Situations and the Ergological Perspective. Scientific director of the Ergology department, at the Université de Provence, created in 1998. Member of the French University Institute, chair of Philosophy and Ergology. Co-founding member of the international network Ergology, Work and Development. Member of the scientific committee of several European and Brazilian journals and member of the scientific council of several scientific societies.
