Date: June 9th and 10th, 2016
Location: UFMG Didactic Activities Center II (CAD2)

Held in partnership with the Directorate of International Relations (DRI) at UFMG, the international seminar “Trends and challenges in Higher Education: BRICS and Latin America on the agenda” aims to bring together representatives from countries in the BRICS bloc and Latin America to critically reflect on the current trends and challenges in higher education, highlighting the main characteristics of their educational systems and their internationalization processes, with a view to promoting the integration of academic curricula as well as promoting teaching and student mobility at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

The event will also host discussions on the role of international networks, such as the BRICS League of Universities, the BRICS Network University, the Montevideo Group (AUGM), and the UDUAL and CINDA networks, as agents to promote exchange and international academic mobility.

The activity is part of the Higher Education Colloquium, which consists of a series of meetings that aim to intertwine knowledge and higher education through dialogue and listening to managers and scholars to support reforms and improvements in Higher Education. The debates, open to the broad participation of managers, researchers, teachers, students and technicians in Higher Education, are guided by reflection on the relevance of an interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary approach in undergraduate studies.
