The CALAS-IEAT Chair program, sponsored by the Maria Sibylla Merian Center for Advanced Latin American Studies (CALAS) and the Institute of Advanced Transdisciplinary Studies (IEAT), is open for registration until March 15, 2023.

The CALAS/IEAT Chair aims to contribute to the development of new methodological and analytical approaches to understanding the transformations and crises in Latin America based on a research project to be carried out within the scope of the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG), in Belo Horizonte.

The program offers a scholarship with compatible remuneration for the selected candidate to stay for three months at UFMG, in addition to the cost of round trip airfare to Belo Horizonte and to the main headquarters of CALAS, in Guadalajara, Mexico.

The crisis of democracy and citizenship claims is the thematic focus of this call, which intends to receive submissions from specialists in studies on Latin America who are interested in researching crisis experiences in the region and who want to address current problems, as well as explore perspectives for confronting them, promoting, in particular, a transdisciplinary research on the crisis of democracy and citizenship claims in the Americas today.
