Full Professor at the Federal University of Minas Gerais: Leader of the Neurosciences Research Group (NNC) and Director of the Center for Technology and Research in Magneto Resonance (CTPMAG).


He holds a degree in Electronic Engineering from the Instituto Tecnológico de Aeronáutica (1992) and a PhD in Science (Human Physiology) from the University of São Paulo (1998). He trained in Space Life Sciences, Space Life Sciences Training Program – National Aeronautics and Space Administration (SLSTP-NASA), was a Visiting Scholar at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria, a Senior Research Fellow at King’s College London and a Research Fellow at Harvard Medical School / Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. Full member of the Neurobiology Commission of the International League Against Epilepsy (NBC-ILAE) and President-Elect of the Brazilian Society of Physiology (2023). He is currently Full Professor at the Federal University of Minas Gerais, Leader of the Neurosciences Research Group (NNC) and Director of the Center for Technology and Research in Magneto Resonance (CTPMAG). He has experience in Physiology, with emphasis on neurophysiology, working mainly on the following subjects: neural networks, epilepsy and electrophysiology.
