Submission of proposals

Proposals for presentations can be submitted as panels (to be coordinated by Ph.D. holders) and posters (to be presented by undergraduate students undergoing scientific initiation and graduate students at M.A. and Ph.D. levels.

Proposals for panels and posters will be submitted on-line, only through the EASY CHAIR Conference Management System, which can be accessed at https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=cosah-2016 or through the link available on the conference website.

Submission of proposals will be accepted from 1st to 25th September 2016.

  • Panels

    Panel proposals, which consist of three or four presentations followed by discussion, should be linked to one of the 10 themes of the conference. Each proposal must be submitted by a convenor, who must be a PhD holder, along with abstracts of the other presentations.

    When submitting a panel proposal, the convenor should enter his/her personal data and a general abstract for the panel. Next, the convenor should enter the identification of the other participants (between three or four participants, including the coordinator) and an individual abstract for each one of the other presentations, together with a short bionote for each participant. Abstracts should have a minimum of 200 and a maximum of 300 words, and may be submitted in Spanish, English and Portuguese. Linguistic combinations are allowed within a panel. Each panel convenor is solely responsible for the complete submission of the panel proposal.

  • Posters

    Proposals for poster presentations should be linked to one of the 10 themes of the event and must be submitted by undergraduate students undergoing scientific initiation, and M.A. and Ph.D. students, enrolled in institutions of higher education in Brazil or abroad.

    When submitting a poster proposal, students should enter their personal data and identification of the institution in which they are enrolled. Next, students should enter an abstract with a minimum of 200 and a maximum of 300 words and a PDF with the poster to be presented at the conference. Abstracts and posters may be submitted in Spanish, English and Portuguese. Students are solely responsible for the complete submission of their poster proposals.

    Poster presentations will take place on the afternoon of 6th October 2016, from 2pm to 6pm. Authors are solely responsible for hanging their posters as from 12am (noon) on the presentation date. Posters must be removed after the scheduled time for the presentation. Panels for hanging posters will be available on site and there will be monitors to assist presenters.

    Printed posters must be identical to the PDF version submitted to the EASY CHAIR by system by applicants. It will not be allowed to submit a different version without the written permission of the Organizing Committee.

    It must be present at the poster of at least one of the authors of the work throughout the session time to present their study to the public.

    Specifications for posters

    Posters should be submitted according to the following specifications:

    • Applicants should use the template prepared by the Organizing Committee and available for download on the conference website;
    • Posters must include the conference visual identity provided in the template for poster submission;
    • Posters should have the following dimensions: 0.90cm wide x 1.20m high;
    • Title: uppercase, Arial font, size 70, single spaced, centred in bold;
    • Names of the authors should be accompanied of reference to the institution of affiliation and e-mail contact: the data should indented right, Arial font, size 32 in bold;
    • Subheadings: capital letters, Arial font, size 36, centred in bold;
    • Each poster must have the following sections: introduction, method, results and discussion, conclusions and references;
    • Body text: Arial font, size 28 or higher, 1.5cm spacing.
    • When appropriate, applicants should specify the source of funding or the funding agency supporting the study;
    • Formatting colours and background is at the discretion of the authors, respecting the template available for download on the conference website;
    • Poster presenters are solely responsible for printing on suitable material and providing a drawstring for poster hanging.
  • Best Poster Award

    Awards will be given to the best posters in accordance with criteria established by the Scientific Committee.

  • Notifications of acceptance

    Notifications of acceptance of proposals submitted through the EASY CHAIR system will be sent by 30th September 2016.
