The 1st International Conference of the Network of Studies on Democracy and Disinformation (REDD) was an event linked to the Institute of Transdisciplinary Studies (IEAT) of UFMG and the UFMG Program of Citizen Training in Defense of Democracy, which sought to debate the problems of disinformation, digital populism, denialism, algorithms and democracy. To this end, it had four meetings, with the themes “Conference: Old threats, new threats: Selections and disinformation in four African democracies”, “Workshop 1”, “Workshop 2: Methodological approaches in comparative disinformation research” and “Conference: The world inside out: Truth and politics in the digital age”.
