The term fantasy is often used to refer to the field of art, and the term rigor as a boundary to demarcate the field of science. The aim here is to destabilize these dichotomous relationships and situate the terms fantasy and rigor in the elaboration of the artist’s work as an experiment, toward the uncertainty of the work, from Maurice Blanchot’s perspective, in dialogue with the idea of the provisional in the Cartesian discourse of method.

Speakers: Ângelo Machado – Institute of Biological Sciences, UFMG. Daisy Leite Turrer – School of Fine Arts, UFMG. José dos Santos Cabral – School of Architecture, UFMG
