Date: October 18 and 19, 2018
Location: Auditorium B106 of the UFMG Teaching Activities Center 3 (CAD3).
Held since 2007, the IEAT Annual Seminar is a traditional meeting of the Institute with the purpose of presenting to the community a summary of its activities during the year.
As the Institute approaches its 20th anniversary, the 2018 IEAT Annual Seminar will be a space to present research developed at the Institute and have the opportunity to discuss inequality in Brazil. Recent data indicate that the richest 5% own more than 95% of the country’s wealth, and recently, we have seen millions of people become unemployed, causing us to once again appear on the hunger map. The timid advances of recent decades are threatened with reversal. The IEAT Annual Seminar is a time for reflection, where we also seek to hear criticism and suggestions from the University regarding our work, as well as present research from residents and research groups.
The 2018 IEAT Annual Seminar is part of the 27th edition of Knowledge Week, which aims to reflect on the diversity of knowledge produced and shared by the university in dialogue with sectors of society. With the theme “Knowledge and Practices to Reduce Inequalities,” the event is part of National Science and Technology Week.
