The deadline for receiving works for volume 30 of Revista da UFMG has been extended until September 7th. In addition to articles, essays, comments, notes, reviews and interviews are accepted, which will be previously evaluated by the Editorial Commission of the Journal.

Intelligence and Artificial Intelligence is the theme of this issue, which aims to discuss the implications of artificial intelligence and its potential for transforming current practices in society. According to the editors, although the covid-19 pandemic has accelerated the adoption of AI-driven changes, the growing debate about the use of such technologies in decision-making and in various human activities, including work, exposes some troubling questions. , but also potentialities. Thus, this issue invites authors to discuss the risks and benefits of adopting artificial intelligence, in its various aspects, such as the issue of decision-making by AI, the use of proprietary algorithms restricted to large conglomerates, AI at work and its relationship with the concentration of wealth and social exclusion, the impact of AI on education, energy and food production, health and medicine, justice and politics, and new forms of social organization, among others.

Articles must comply with the Publication Norms available on the Revista UFMG website, including a minimum of 17 and a maximum of 25 pages, including tables, maps, graphs and other images and non-textual information. Only unpublished works in Brazil that address different perspectives within the proposed theme will be accepted.
