Between the months of October and December 2024, professor Marcello Musto from York University, in Toronto, Canada, will be at UFMG as a guest of the FUNDEP/IEAT Chair program.

During his stay at the university, he will teach the mini-course New Faces of Marx and also the opening conference of the IEAT 2024 Annual Seminar, which will take place on December 10th in auditorium 1 of the Faculty of Economic Sciences at UFMG.

Starting on November 13th and ending on December 4th, the New Faces of Marx mini-course will take place in the Noble Hall of the UFMG Faculty of Law, from 6:30 pm to 9 pm. The professor
Marcello Musto is widely recognized as one of the main experts in the reinterpretation of Marx studies in recent decades. His works have been translated into twenty-five languages, consolidating his global influence. In Brazil, his publications stand out: The old Marx: a biography of his last times (Boitempo, 2018), Repensar Marx and the Marxisms: Guide for new readings (Boitempo, 2022) and Karl Marx: intellectual and political biography (1857 -1883) (Expression Popular, 2023). Musto also organized important collections, such as Workers, unite! Political anthology of the First International (Boitempo, 2014), The rebirth of Marx: main concepts and new interpretations (Autonomia Literária, 2023) and The essential of Marx and Engels (Boitempo, 2024).
