Welcome to the IEAT/UFMG website
The Institute for Advanced Transdisciplinary Studies (IEAT) promotes an environment that fosters transdisciplinary research at the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG), advancing the frontiers of knowledge as a foundation for cutting-edge research and academic excellence. To strengthen transdisciplinarity, the Institute encourages collaboration among researchers from diverse fields of knowledge.
Its Chairs and International Visiting Scholars programs promote the internationalization of transdisciplinary research by enabling internationally recognized scholars to establish academic partnerships with UFMG research groups. The Resident Professors Program provides UFMG faculty members with opportunities to develop advanced research projects with a strong transdisciplinary focus. The Research Groups Program supports collaborative initiatives involving at least two distinct major fields of knowledge. In addition to these programs, the IEAT also publishes the Revista da UFMG (UFMG Journal).
The IEAT is a member of the UBIAS (University-Based Institutes for Advanced Study) network, which promotes collaboration and the exchange of ideas among researchers from diverse disciplines, cultures, and backgrounds, creating an environment that supports innovative research. In Brazil, the Institute is also a member of the Brazilian Forum for Advanced Studies (FOBREAV), a network that brings together institutes for advanced studies from universities across the country.
