
Publicity image of the 2nd Transdisciplinary Workshop: Environmental Governance and Sustainability of Water and Energy
On November 18th and 19th, the second 2nd Transdisciplinary Workshop will be held: Environmental Governance and Sustainability of Water and Energy, as part of the Positive Net Impact Project: Biotic Integrity and Participatory Monitoring at HPP Furnas, in partnership with UFMG.
The activities will take place in the auditorium of the UFMG Geosciences Institute. Certificates of participation will be issued to those who register using the electronic form.
The workshop aims to reflect on the impact of human action on the Furnas Hydroelectric Plant, located between the municipalities of São José da Barra and São João Batista do Glória, in the state of Minas Gerais. In a hybrid format, the workshop will take place in person at UFMG and will feature online broadcasts, bringing together the project team, national and international experts to present preliminary results and discuss innovative strategies for conserving biodiversity and ecosystem services. Professor Marcos Callisto, from the Institute of Biological Sciences (ICB) at UFMG and resident at IEAT, is one of the organizers of the initiative. The event is organized by the Bentos Ecology Laboratory linked to the General Biology Department of the ICB, with funding from Eletrobras and support from the Support Foundation (Fundep) of UFMG and IEAT.
