On October 16th and 17th, 2025, the Traditional Knowledge and Notorious Knowledge Seminar will be held at UFMG. The event will take place in Auditorium A104 of the UFMG Center for Didactic Activities 2 (CAD2).
The meeting will bring together masters of traditional knowledge, who will share their experiences as professors of the UFMG Cross-Cutting Training in Traditional Knowledge and as PhD holders of Notorious Knowledge, working at various universities. UFMG faculty and students will also share their learning experiences during the event.
The event is open to the entire UFMG academic community and the external community. Attendance will be certified and may be counted as extension credits for students. Registration must be completed using the online form.

The seminar is part of UFMG’s Cross-Cutting Training in Traditional Knowledge program and is a partnership between UFMG and the Federal University of São Paulo (Unifesp), through research projects coordinated by professors César Geraldo Guimarães, from UFMG’s Department of Social Communication, and Juarez Pereira Furtado, from Unifesp’s Institute of Health and Society (ISS).
The seminar is supported by the Kaapora Chair of Traditional and Non-Hegemonic Knowledge at Unifesp, the UFMG postgraduate programs in Architecture and Urbanism (NPGAU) and Social Communication (PPGCOM), the Institute of Advanced Transdisciplinary Studies at UFMG (IEAT), the Provost’s Office for Undergraduate Studies (Prograd) at UFMG, the São Paulo Research Foundation (Fapesp), the Coordination Foundation for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES) and the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPQ).
