António Costa Pinto is a professor at the Institute of Social Sciences at the University of Lisbon. He holds a PhD from the European University Institute (1992, Florence), has been visiting professor at Stanford University (1993) and Georgetown (2004), and visiting researcher at Princeton University (1996), the University of California-Berkeley (2000 and 2010) and at New York University (2017). He is co-editor of the series “The Portuguese-speaking world. History, Politics and Culture”, for the Sussex Academic Press. He has works on political elites, authoritarian regimes and democratization. He recently released Latin American Dictatorships in the Era of Fascism by Routledge London.
