Researcher at the Laboratory of Integrative Neuroscience, Dr. Lovinger holds a BA in Psychology from the University of Arizona (1981) and a Post-Doctorate in Psychology from Northwestern University (1987). He has served since 2001 at the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA) as Senior Investigator and Head of the Laboratory of Integrative Neuroscience. His research deals with the modulation and plasticity of synaptic transmission in corticostriatal synapses and the effects of the use of toxic substances on synaptic transmission.
