Luís Miguel Carvalho is an associate professor at the Institute of Education of the University of Lisbon, in the areas of Administration and Educational Policy. He is the author of dozens of publications on education policy and education systems. His recent work focuses on the circulation of knowledge and policy, as well as the role of knowledge in educational policy. He coordinates an extensive study on the OECD’s PISA as an instrument for knowledge-based regulation and in recent years has published several works on this topic in international journals. He is currently coordinator of the Doctorate in Education program – area of Educational Administration and Policy; and coordinator of the Research Group “Education and Training Policies” at the Institute of Education of the University of Lisbon.
