Date: August 20, 2020

Location: Online Event

The activity proposes a transisciplinary debate, based on the domains of urban anthropology, architecture and political science, about language and narratives present in the city. The proposal  is to discuss how dialogues at the city constitutes a game (or war) in which the formal meaning of the words, the lines and structures of communication, the access to interpretation and specially the spatial reality that language refers to are engendered by power relations.

The debate will be presented by professors José Guilherme Magnani from the Urban Anthropology Center at USP, Paula Santoro from the School of Architecture at USP, and Ricardo Fabrino from the Department of Politics Science at UFMG. The mediation will be done by Denise Morado from the School of Architecture at UFMG and resident professor at IEAT (2019/2020).
