Acontece, entre os dias 4 a 9 de agosto de 2025, a 2ª edição do programa BRICS Legal Studies School 2025. Cerca de 30 estudantes de universidades da Rússia, China e Índia compartilharão conhecimentos e aprendizados em palestras aprofundada nos sistemas jurídicos dos países originais do BRICS — Brasil, Rússia, Índia, China e África do Sul —, ao mesmo tempo em que promove o diálogo crítico sobre os desafios globais e a cooperação internacional.

 

O programa é destinado a estudantes do último ano de graduação e pós-graduação dos países do BRICS, que opera sob o tema “Fortalecendo a Cooperação Global do Sul para uma Governança Mais Inclusiva e Sustentável”, capacitando os participantes a examinar tradições jurídicas, governança institucional e desafios transnacionais nos BRICS.

 

“A BRICS Legal Studies School é um instrumento estratégico de internacionalização da UFMG. Ela fomenta novas colaborações e diversifica as parcerias institucionais. Além disso, oferece a docentes e discentes dos países membros do Bloco a oportunidade de aprofundar o conhecimento sobre os diferentes sistemas jurídicos dos BRICS e de discutir a regulação jurídica do grupo e questões atinentes a mudanças climáticas e inteligência artificial”, relata o professor Aziz Saliba, Diretor de Relações Internacionais (DRI) da UFMG.

BRICS Legal Studies School/UFMG to hold its 2nd Edition in August

 The second edition of the BRICS Legal Studies School 2025 will take place from August 4 to 9, 2025. Around 30 students from universities in Russia, China, and India will come together to share knowledge and experiences through in-depth lectures on the legal systems of the founding BRICS countries — Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa — while also engaging in critical dialogue on global challenges and international cooperation.

 

The program is aimed at final-year undergraduate and graduate students from BRICS countries and will operate under the theme “Strengthening Global South Cooperation for More Inclusive and Sustainable Governance.”  It seeks to empower participants to explore legal traditions, institutional governance, and transnational challenges across the BRICS nations.

“The BRICS Legal Studies School is a strategic instrument for UFMG’s internationalization. It fosters new collaborations and diversifies institutional partnerships. Moreover, it offers faculty members and students from BRICS countries the opportunity to deepen their understanding of the different legal systems within the bloc and to discuss BRICS legal regulation as well as issues related to climate change and artificial intelligence,” says Professor Aziz Saliba, Vice Provost for the Office of International Affairs at UFMG.
