Claudia Storti is full professor (professore ordinario), dean of the medieval and modern legal history section and member of the administrative council of Università di Milano. From 2013 to 2016, she was the president of the Italian Society of Legal History and she is the incumbent editor-in-chief of the Italian Review of Legal History. Her research and academic publications involve mainly the history of ius gentium – public international law (XV-XX centuries), including slavery and slave trade; history of the legal status of foreigners and conflict of laws – private international law (XIV-XIX centuries); history of criminal procedure and justice (XIX-XX centuries); and Italian legal and institutional history (Medieval and Modern Ages).
