The Revista da UFMG is now accepting submissions for its new volume, number 30, on the theme of Intelligence and Artificial Intelligence. In addition to articles, they accept essays, comments, notes, reviews, and interviews, which will be evaluated by the Editorial Committee of the Journal.

The submission deadline is August 15, 2023.

The call proposes to welcome works that discuss the implications of artificial intelligence and its potential to transform current practices in society. According to the editors, although the COVID-19 pandemic has accelerated the adoption of AI-driven changes, the growing debate about the use of such technologies in decision-making and various human activities, including work, exposes some concerning issues, but also potentialities. Thus, this edition invites authors to debate the risks and benefits of adopting artificial intelligence, in its various aspects, such as the question of decision-making by AI, the use of proprietary algorithms restricted to large conglomerates, AI in the workplace and its relationship with wealth concentration and social exclusion, the impact of AI on education, energy production, food, health and medicine, justice and politics, and new forms of social organization, among others.

The complete call can be accessed below or on the Periódicos da UFMG’ website.
