The Research Groups Program of the Institute of Advanced Transdisciplinary Studies at UFMG is open for applications from August 15 to October 21, 2022.

In this call, two research groups of a transdisciplinary nature will be supported, already existing or to be formed at UFMG, characterized by the excellence of the researchers and the advanced nature of the works, focused on the current challenges of knowledge. In addition to supporting groups, the call aims to encourage the approach of researchers who develop work with transdisciplinary potential, articulating a set of themes from different areas of knowledge.

Submissions must be made through the electronic address editais@ieat.ufmg.br until October 21, 2022.

Submissions can be made by researchers with a permanent relationship at UFMG, with recognized scientific experience. The group of researchers should include permanent, volunteer or emeritus professors from UFMG, working in at least two different areas of knowledge: Humanities, Letters and Arts; Life Sciences (including Health) and Natural Sciences (including Technology) and may incorporate members external to UFMG.

Projects approved by the IEAT Board of Directors will be supported by the Institute in raising funds from funding agencies and other bodies, both internal and external to UFMG. It will be offered, within the budgetary possibilities of the IEAT, the cost of tickets and/or per diems for the participation of the coordinators of the research groups in events and the support for the realization of lectures, seminars and the like.

In addition, approved research groups will have priority in the submission of books to the IEAT Collection at the Editora UFMG and in the proposition of names for the Chairs Program, since it is related to the projects presented. As a novelty, this call will support the indication of a Scientific Initiation grant from the Dean of Research to approved research groups that include this request in the proposal.

The result will be announced on January 13, 2023 by letter and through the Institute’s communication channels.
