Reflecting on the underlying processes of decision-making in different areas of knowledge as distinct types of rationality, considering current technological and cultural transformations, is one of the objectives of the discipline “Topics in Transdisciplinary Studies: Rationality and Decision-making”, which will be offered by IEAT resident professors in the second half of 2023.

Always on Wednesdays, classes will take place from August 16 to November 11, 2023, from 2 pm to 5:30 pm. In all, 80 vacancies are offered, 50 for undergraduate students and 30 for graduate students. The workload is 45 hours (three credits), in the remote modality, with four face-to-face meetings. The full menu can be accessed here.

Classes will be taught by resident professors Ana Cristina Côrtes Gama, from the Faculty of Medicine at UFMG, Gustavo Ximenes Cunha, from the Faculty of Letters at UFMG, Márcio Augusto Gonçalves and Ricardo Teixeira Veiga, from the Faculty of Economic Sciences at UFMG, Rousiley Celi Moreira Maia and Walter Romero Menon Junior, from the Faculty of Philosophy and Human Sciences at UFMG.

About the enrollment procedure

For undergraduate students, the subject will be offered in the Free Training modality, through the Graduate Academic System (Siga) in the 3rd phase of registration. The course code is UNI196.

For graduate students, the discipline is offered as an option in five courses through the following codes: Speech Therapy (Medicine) DIP FON816, Administration (FACE) CAD010 TET, Linguistics (FALE) LIG 953, Social Communication (Fafich) COM865 PC5 and Philosophy (Fafich) FFH 803 Class F.

The calendar and enrollment instructions are available on the websites of the UFMG Graduate Programs. The enrollment procedure must be done in the Minha UFMG system, in the field Postgraduate Enrollment. For students from other postgraduate programs, registration can be done in the elective discipline modality. In courses in which registration has already ended, students must request the registration adjustment through the Postgraduate Programs Secretariats.
