Professor Renato Martins Assunção holds a degree in Mathematics from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (1984), a Master’s degree in Mathematics from the National Association of Pure and Applied Mathematics (1987) and a PhD in Statistics from the University of Washington (1994). He is currently a professor at the Federal University of Minas Gerais. He has experience in the area of Probability and Statistics, with an emphasis on Applied Probability and Statistics. Working mainly on the following topics: Poisson Process, Spatial Statistics, M-estimator, Functional Influence.


Project: RICO

The main objective of this work is to study the appropriate use of quantitative and qualitative methods when dealing with risk and uncertainty in the lives of individuals and in society. The main expected results are the elaboration of a book with the conclusions of the research work and conferences at UFMG and outside UFMG to publicize the work.
