A Diretoria de Relações Internacionais recebeu, nos dias 20 e 21 de novembro, as visitas de uma delegação com quatorze representantes de universidades neozelandesas, e de um grupo de vinte gestores de relações internacionais de instituições parceiras da UFMG na Europa, América do Norte e Austrália, que estão na UFMG nesta semana por ocasião do seminário Construindo parcerias para o fortalecimento de cooperações internacionais, organizado pela PRPG, PRPq e DRI.

Os diretores de relações internacionais da UFMG, Prof. Aziz Saliba e Prof. Dawisson Lopes, anfitrionaram as duas reuniões e discutiram os aspectos institucionais das relações entre a UFMG e as instituições visitantes, bem como as ações prospectivas para o aprofundamento das colaborações existentes e o fomento de novas iniciativas com base em áreas de interesse comuns.

Participaram da reunião do dia 20 de novembro, realizada na Sala de Reuniões da DRI, representantes da Auckland University of Technology, Lincoln University, Massey University, University of Auckland, University of Canterbury, University of Otago, Victoria University of Wellington e Centre of Asia-Pacific Excellence. Atualmente, a UFMG tem um acordo de cooperação firmado com a Victoria University of Wellington e há interesse em ampliar o escopo das colaborações com a Nova Zelândia.

Além das discussões para alinhamento das atividades de cooperação internacional, os pesquisadores e representantes institucionais das universidades visitantes, juntamente aos membros dos programas de pós-graduação da UFMG, têm participado de painéis temáticos com o intuito de calibrar ações conjuntas que promovam a expansão das atividades de internacionalização da UFMG nos eixos de ensino, pesquisa e extensão.

On November 20 and 21, the Office of International Affairs received the visit of fourteen representatives from New Zealand universities and a group of twenty representatives from partner institutions in Europe, North America and Australia, who were at UFMG attending the seminar Building Partnerships for Strengthening International Cooperation, organized by the Office of Graduate Studies, the Office of Research and the Office of International Affairs.

Professor Aziz Saliba, Dean for International Affairs, and Professor Dawisson Lopes, Deputy Dean for International Affairs, hosted the two meetings and discussed the institutional aspects of the relations between UFMG and the visiting institutions, as well as forthcoming actions to deepen existing collaborations and foster new initiatives based on areas of common interest.

The first meeting was attended by representatives from Auckland University of TechnologyLincoln UniversityMassey UniversityUniversity of AucklandUniversity of CanterburyUniversity of OtagoVictoria University of Wellington and Centre of Asia-Pacific Excellence. Currently, UFMG has a cooperation agreement already signed with Victoria University of Wellington, and in the meeting the participants discussed actions to expand existing collaborations.

In addition to the discussions to align international cooperation initiatives, researchers and institutional representatives of visiting universities, along with members of UFMG graduate programs, have participated in thematic panels to debate joint actions for promoting the expansion of teaching, research and extra-mural activities at UFMG.
